My personal dummy - Part three

Failure.

The expanding foam doesn't expand very much nor very well. A 16 oz. can only expanded a small amount.

Even if it expanded nice and evenly, it would cost me a small fortune in foam to fill up my dummy form.

I'm going to see about getting the marine "pour foam" or "two part foam" and using that instead of the cans.

I think it's the weather. IIRC, The Slapdash Sewist said her first dummy used less foam but it kept expending. She did it with Miss Celie's Pants in July/Aug.

When she did it again recently, it expended much less. I dont' have the link, all this is from memory but you could search her blog.

I live in the Louisville, KY area and when I did my dummy a over the last few weeks it was vaguely warm and not very humid. It took me 4 cans of the black cans of expandy foam. There's still a little room left in the arms and the shoulder/neck area, but that can be filled with fabric. Patience and the right weather is the key!
